Grimsby Town 0-4 Leyton Orient

  • Published

Leyton Orient swept aside Grimsby in front of the watching Carl Fletcher - their new manager in waiting.

Goals from Daniel Happe, Josh Coulson, James Alabi and a Josh Wright penalty at Blundell Park saw interim head coach Ross Embleton sign off from duty in style.

Orient struck first when Happe fired home at the second attempt, taking advantage of the time and space afforded to him in the Grimsby area.

A little more than 10 minutes later, it was 2-0 as the visitors once again made their mark, uncontested from a set-piece.

It was Coulson who got his name on the scoresheet this time, chesting the ball down and volleying it past James McKeown.

After the break, Grimsby piled players forward in an attempt to claw their way back into the game, but they were undone on the counter when Alabi grabbed a third.

There was still time for Wright to make his mark from the penalty spot, sending McKeown the wrong way from 12 yards.
