FA Cup: Rochdale 0-0 Boston United highlights

Boston United manager Craig Elliott says he feels "a bit grumpy" despite taking League One Rochdale to a home replay in the FA Cup second round.

The National League North side were good value as the game finished goalless - a result which earned them a place in Monday's draw for the third round and a potential tie against a Premier League club.

"I feel a bit grumpy, a bit disappointed," Elliott told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"We could've won, should've won. We had good chances in good moments to turn the screw. I know it sounds a bit flat saying that but that's how I sort of looked at the game."

The sixth-tier side bossed long periods of the game and denied Dale any space to create clear-cut opportunities.

Despite being second best for much of the first half, the hosts did have a goal disallowed before the break when Callum Camps' shot hit the post and Ian Henderson was flagged offside after scoring the rebound.

Boston continued to impress in the second half and went close when Jordan Thewlis teed up Andi Thanoj on the edge of the box, but Dale goalkeeper Robert Sanchez kept his effort out.

The home side mounted late pressure, Rhys Norrington-Davies seeing a 30-yard drive pushed over the top by Boston goalkeeper Peter Crook.

Crook also saved Ollie Rathbone's stinging shot with Henderson heading the rebound over as Boston held out to secure a replay at York Street.

"Back at York Street, that's really good news for everybody involved and it's going to be a great night," added Elliott.

"There will be a lot of excitement around the draw but with my manager head on, we've still got a lot to do to get through and beat Rochdale."

Boston chairman David Newton added it was an emotional afternoon in Greater Manchester.

"This is what you dream of, isn't it. This is the FA Cup. And for lower-league sides this is what you dream of and I can't believe it," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"It's unbelievable and if we play like that again - I'm not saying we're going to win but - we'll certainly give Rochdale a good game at our place."
