Nicky Maynard's second League Two hat-trick of the season took his campaign tally to 10 goals - 11 in all competitions

Nicky Maynard's hat-trick earned Graham Coughlan his first win as Mansfield Town boss with a 3-2 success at Cambridge.

Harvey Knibbs headed the home side into a third-minute lead that they held until nine minutes before the interval when Mal Benning's superb cross was diverted by Danny Rose into the path of Maynard, who turned the ball home from close range.

Cambridge responded and were back ahead a minute before the break when Jack Roles saw his free-kick rattle Conrad Logan's post but fall to Greg Taylor, who netted the rebound.

The U's were reduced to 10 men 14 minutes into the second half when Reggie Lambe was shown his second yellow card in three minutes and was dismissed for the second time in his last two starts.

Maynard's second of the afternoon drew Mansfield level on 71 minutes when he fired in from close range following CJ Hamilton's centre.

He then headed the winner nine minutes from time when Cambridge were unable to clear a corner - taking him to 10 League Two goals for the season, joint second, but 13 behind Swindon's Eoin Doyle.
