Kevin O'Hara has scored seven goals in six games

Kevin O'Hara's second double in two games lifted Alloa Athletic to within a point of Partick Thistle at the bottom of the table as they beat Arbroath.

The striker scored twice within three first-half minutes to end a run of four home games without a win.

O'Hara rose to head head home a 24th-minute Iain Flannigan corner and followed it with a fine driven finish.

The 21-year-old had also scored twice in Saturday's 3-2 home Scottish Cup loss to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

He has now found the net seven times in six games and has 12 overall for the season.

A disappointing Arbroath, who missed a chance to move up from seventh to fifth in the Scottish Championship table, rarely threatened a fightback and are now only four points above their bottom-placed hosts having gone three games without a win.
