The International Olympic Committee has cancelled upcoming Olympic boxing qualifiers due to take place in Wuhan in China next month because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The decision follows a similar move to relocate Olympic women's football qualifiers from Wuhan to Nanjing.

No alternative arrangements for the boxing, for athletes from the Asia and Oceania regions, has been announced.

Wuhan is the city at the heart of the outbreak of the flu-like virus.

There have been 440 confirmed cases and nine people have died from the virus.

Chinese authorities have advised people to stop travel into and out of Wuhan, the city at the heart of the outbreak.

The UK is to begin monitoring flights arriving from China, as part of a series of precautionary measures.

GB Basketball are also due to play in China in Olympic qualifying in two weeks' time.

They have indicated that they have no immediate concerns, but will watch the situation closely.

Their event in the southern Chinese city of Foshan is 1,000km (621 miles) from Wuhan.
