Shrewsbury Town have signed forward Conor McAleny from Fleetwood on loan for the rest of the season.

McAleny, 27, who was previously at Everton, had loans at Scunthorpe, Brentford, Cardiff, Charlton, Wigan and Oxford before joining Fleetwood in 2017, initially on loan.

He then spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock.

McAleny was signed in time to be available for Saturday's League One game against Rochdale at Spotland.

"He's a player with real ability," said Shrewsbury boss Sam Ricketts.

"He's had some good spells at Wigan and Oxford. He has real quality, can score goals, can assist and works hard."
