WSL Highlights: Everton 2-3 Manchester United Women

Manchester United survived an Everton fightback to record a first win in three Women's Super League games.

Leah Galton put them in command with a first-half double as she twice finished neatly from close range.

Ella Toone then seemingly made the points safe for the visitors with a third just past the hour mark.

But the Toffees showed some character as Dan Turner headed in a corner and then Lucy Graham caught Mary Earps off her line but an equaliser eluded them.

It was the first time Everton Women had played at their newly adopted home of Walton Hall Park, less than a mile from Goodison Park. They had previously been based at Southport's Haig Avenue since 2018.

The near sell-out crowd was treated to an entertaining game in windy conditions, but Everton were unable to end a winless run of three league games.

Victory for United moved them up to fourth above Reading, who were without a game this weekend, while Everton remain sixth.
