Aaron Dorans cracked in the opening goal from a 23rd-minute free kick

Inverness Caledonian Thistle moved three points clear in second place in the Championship after edging out Dunfermline at East End Park.

Aaron Doran fired the visitors ahead when his free kick struck the underside of the bar and the assistant referee signalled it had crossed the line.

Don Thomas levelled in spectacular fashion, hammering in from 20 yards.

But Tom Walsh found the winner with a deflected strike shortly after hitting the post.

Caley Thistle are now 18 points behind runaway leaders Dundee United, with a game in hand, but manager John Robertson will be focused on finishing best of the rest for the play-offs to come.

Dunfermline were looking for a third successive league win but drop to seventh place, four points off fourth and five ahead of ninth place.
