Torquay United 2-0 Chorley
- Published
Torquay moved eight points clear of the National League relegation zone with victory over bottom-of-the-table Chorley.
Robbie Cundy and Jamie Reid netted to leave the visitors, now without a win in 12 league matches, 15 points from safety.
Ade Azeez had a shot saved by Matt Urwin at the second attempt before Torquay opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time when Cundy was on hand to head in a long free-kick from Joe Lewis.
Reid put a glorious chance on a plate for Azeez early in the second half, but the striker missed an open goal from seven yards.
And Reid showed his team-mate how it was done when converting Ben Whitfield's pass from close range 10 minutes from time.
