Alloa Athletic 0-2 Ayr United: Visitors jump into third spot
- Published
Ayr United surged into third in the Scottish Championship with a convincing away victory at Alloa.
Aaron Drinan's back heel sent Mark Kerr's side on their way and a solo effort from Alan Forrest in 82 minutes sealed the deal.
Ayr leapfrog Dundee, whose game against Arbroath was postponed.
The result leaves Peter Grant's Alloa ominously poised just one point off the relegation play-off place having played a game more than Queen of the South.
The opening goal was courtesy of a blunder by home goalkeeper Kieran Wright who spilled a simple save. But Alloa had enough chances to salvage at least a point with striker Robert Thomson the sinner in chief.
