Salford City 2-0 Bradford City

Ashley Hunter scored twice as Salford beat Bradford 2-0 to clinch their first home league win since Boxing Day.

Hunter, on loan from Fleetwood, made it four goals in the last three games with two strikes from outside the box.

It earned Graham Alexander's side their first victory at the Peninsula Stadium in seven games and kept alive their hopes of a late play-off push in League Two.

Bradford are still four points ahead of them but have now lost five away games in a row and are without a win outside of Valley Parade since October.

Hunter opening the scoring after 10 minutes, firing home from 25 yards following a pass from Darron Gibson.

Salford striker Tom Elliott went close with a header on to the top of the net late in the first half before being forced off with an injury.

But Hunter struck again soon after the break as Bradford backed off and invited him to beat goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell from distance, which he did.

Hunter almost had his hat-trick in stoppage time but was denied by O'Donnell's save with his feet.
