The hosts created the better chances in a tense game and won out thanks to Dale Gorman's clever chipped finish midway through the second half.

The Exiles saw an earlier penalty appeal turned down.

The win lifts Michael Flynn's side to 15th, while Morecambe remain 22nd having won only one of their last six games in League Two.
