AFC Fylde 0-0 Solihull Moors

  • Published

Solihull kept their National League play-off bid on course with a goalless draw at struggling AFC Fylde as a strong wind made for difficult playing conditions at Mill Farm.

The visitors started well with Jake Beesley and Mitch Hancox having shots blocked before Luke Burke replied for the hosts but his 20-yard effort was parried by Ryan Boot.

Beesley then headed over from close range as the visitors pressed for the opener before Danny Philliskirk tested Boot from distance midway through the first period.

Solihull went close twice early in the second half but the home side were denied from a corner when Darren Carter cleared after a goalmouth scramble with 15 minutes remaining.

There were five minutes of added time following an injury to Hancox but neither side could break the deadlock as Solihull remain seventh and Fylde 23rd and 10 points from safety.
