Eastleigh secured a potentially valuable National League draw at as they shared the spoils against Wrexham at the Racecourse.

Jordan Ponticelli thought he had broken the deadlock with a header after the break, but was ruled offside.

Both teams hoped to pull away from the National League relegation zone.

Eastleigh rose to 16th in the table, three points ahead of the Welsh side, who dropped to 19th to stay two points clear of the drop zone.

Wrexham boss Dean Keates said:

"I've seen it back [Ponticelli goal being ruled out]. From the moment it leaves Davis [Keelor-Dunn's] foot until he heads it, not at any point is he offside. Look, they are the fine margins of football - there's no point me crucifying them [the officials] and going mad about the linesman.

"He's got a decision to make, he's made the wrong decision."

Keates added: "We had long periods of the game that we dominated. We weren't ruthless enough.
