AFC Fylde 1-0 Aldershot Town

Danny Philliskirk's first-half strike proved enough as AFC Fylde gave themselves a boost in their bid for National League survival thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over Aldershot at Mill Farm.

The hosts got off to the brighter start, but Jordan Williams' strike was kept out by Aldershot goalkeeper Mitch Walker in the opening exchanges.

At the other end, Fylde defender Alex Whitmore made a headed goal-line clearance to deny the visitors an opener before his side took the lead midway through the first half thanks to former Oldham midfielder Philliskirk.

Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong brought down Mark Yeates in the box and Philliskirk fired home the rebound from close range after Walker saved his initial spot-kick.

Harry Panayiotou came close to equalising but was denied by Josh Lillis, while Craig Tanner had an effort cleared off the line just before the hour mark, but the Coasters held on for maximum points to move four from safety and extend their run to three matches unbeaten.
