Midfielder Ryan Flynn has signed a new one-year contract with St Mirren, with the option of a further year.

The former Sheffield United and Falkirk player, 31, has played 74 times for the Paisley club.

He featured 27 times last season before suffering a cruciate ligament injury in February.

St Mirren announced last week that captain Stephen McGinn and goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky were among 13 departures.

"It's one that's never been in doubt it's just been a case of circumstances with everything going on but I'm glad it's sorted and I can just get on with rehab now," Flynn said.

"It'll be our third year in the Premiership and we don't want to be treading water. Hopefully we can look to what the likes of Livingston have done recently and do that ourselves."
