Gogic case throws up 'anomaly' - Ross

Midfielder Alex Gogic has confirmed he is the Hibernian player who returned a false positive Covid-19 test.

After routine testing on Friday, Hibs cancelled Saturday's training session when the Cypriot received his results.

Further tests were negative, but the player will self-isolate for 10 days, meaning he will miss out on his first international call-up.

Hibs, who said they "strictly adhered to all protocols", lost 1-0 at home to Aberdeen on Sunday.

Head coach Jack Ross said the fact Gogic has to self-isolate is "frustrating" given he has had the all clear.

"I've been very respectful of what we have to adhere to and I'm not going to change that," he told BBC Scotland.

"But applying common sense to it, I'm struggling a wee bit. It's maybe highlighted some flaws that might be addressed."

Ross also confirmed that he expects winger Darryl Horgan to leave the club for England in the next few days.
