Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah moved to within one goal of the England Under-21 record with the opener in a 2-1 win against Austria in Ried im Innkreis.

Nketiah, 21, scored a hat-trick against Kosovo last week and continued his fine form, stealing the ball from the defence and running through to score.

Norwich defender Ben Godfrey slid in with a far-post finish from a corner.

Barnsley striker Patrick Schmidt pulled one back for the hosts but England held on.

Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham, the youngest player to represent England U21s, played the full 90 minutes.

England have won all six games in their group and are six points clear of Austria with four matches remaining.
