Newport County maintained their early challenge at the top of League Two against 10-man Tranmere Rovers.
Saikou Janneh struck before the break with his first goal for the hosts, guiding the ball into the top right hand side of the net from a corner.
The visitors saw Paul Lewis sent off in the second period for a dangerous challenge on Joss Labadie.
On manager Michael Flynn's 40th birthday, Newport stayed second in the table behind leaders Cambridge United.
