Josh Koroma's first-half goal put Huddersfield in front, but Bristol City battled back after the interval

Bristol City came from a goal behind to end their five-game winless run with victory at Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers, who edged a lacklustre first half short on clear-cut chances, went in front just before the break when Josh Koroma converted Isaac Mbenza's wicked cross from the right.

Bristol City continued to struggle in attack after the interval, but the momentum of the match drastically changed with the 68th-minute introduction of Antoine Semenyo and Jamie Paterson.

Semenyo created chaos with his direct running and pace, and it was his low far-post cross that allowed Jay Dasilva to tap in for his first-ever professional goal.

Dasilva then turned provider to tee up Paterson for the winner, firing into the roof of the net moments after the lively Semenyo had struck the foot of the post.

The result moved Bristol City back into the play-off places and halted the Robins' recent slump in form, which came after they had opened the campaign with four successive wins.

They started brightly against Huddersfield, with Nahki Wells clipping the bar following Chris Martin's pull-back in the early stages, but the game soon developed into a midfield battle until Koroma's well-taken opener.

The contest followed a similar pattern in the second half, before City head coach Dean Holden's double change with 22 minutes remaining gave the visitors renewed impetus.

Both goals came in the space of six minutes, with 22-year-old Dasilva's maiden English Football League strike and Paterson's fourth of the season giving the Robins a much-needed win.

Huddersfield head coach Carlos Corberan told BBC Radio Leeds:

"I think in the first half we were fantastic. We controlled them and we started to create chances and scored our goal.

"For me the moment they used their substitutes, we couldn't continue to control the ball or stop the chances that they had.

"We didn't have the right answer and that's why for me they won the game, we couldn't stop them."

Bristol City boss Dean Holden told BBC Radio Bristol:

"In the short space of time since the Norwich game we've worked really hard on the shape of the team.

"One moment of indecision cost us for their goal. First 10 minutes of the second half we stayed in the game and then we made those attacking changes to try to get back in it, and to try to take the game away from them.

"I was really pleased with the subs coming off the bench, (they're) impacting in pretty much every game this season."
