Norwich failed to score in a Championship fixture for the first time since a 1-0 loss to Derby on October 3
Norwich City missed out on moving into the Championship's top two as Millwall held the Canaries to a goalless draw at Carrow Road.
Canaries forward Przemyslaw Placheta came close to the opener moments before half-time, seeing an effort cannon off the post after good work from Teemu Pukki.
And Millwall goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski denied Emiliano Buendia in the 73rd minute, before the midfielder's rebound was blocked on the line.
Daniel Farke's side pushed for a late goal but it was Millwall substitute Shaun Williams who nearly netted the winner, clipping the crossbar in the 95th minute.
The result saw Norwich rise to third in the table, while Millwall stay in seventh.
Norwich had won six of their past seven league games against Millwall and dominated the opening period, with Bialkowski keeping out a deflected Marco Stiepermann effort and Placheta striking the post.
The Canaries continued to boss possession in the second period, as Pukki forced another fine save from Bialkowski with 10 minutes remaining.
But, for all their attempts, Norwich failed to find the net for only the second time in the league this season and both sides seemed content to take a point at full-time.
Norwich boss Daniel Farke told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"This is not what we wanted. We wanted to win this game today. We played against a side that were pretty [well] structured and concentrated on their defending.
"We created an unbelievable amount of chances with lots of possession close to the opponent's box. We had 27 chances today. Can't complain too much, the only thing we can criticise is our responsibility to finish.
"So many times we played too often, and gave the ball away. But we can't be too critical, we created 27 chances. It's the Championship, sometimes you just have to take a point."
Millwall boss Gary Rowett:
"I thought we defended really well when we needed to and largely restricted them to shots from distance. When they got a little closer everyone did their jobs very well.
"It was a very pleasing clean sheet against a good side and we had one or two chances ourselves.
"There was one excellent counter-attack when only the final pass was missing and we also went close when Shaun Williams clipped the bar with virtually the last kick.
"We need to be better in the final third, I know that, but to come away from here with something to show for our efforts is very pleasing, especially as we were missing a few."
