Boreham Wood 3-3 Southend United (aet, 4-3 pens)
- Published
National League side Boreham Wood piled on the misery for struggling League Two club Southend United as they knocked them out of the FA Cup on penalties.
Jamal Fyfield and Mark Ricketts put the hosts 2-0 up but Brandon Goodship and Terrell Egbri sent Southend level.
In extra time, Kabongo Tshimanga's penalty put the Wood in front again after a foul by Harry Lennon.
James Olayinka levelled again to send it to penalties, with Jason Demetriou missing the decisive spot-kick.
Victory for Boreham Wood ensures they reach the second round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2017-18.
Southend's defeat is their 13th out of 15 games this season and means they are still without a win in all competitions this term.
