FA Cup: Colchester 1-1 Marine (3-5 pens) highlights

Eighth-tier Marine stunned League Two side Colchester United by beating them on penalties to reach the FA Cup second round.

Anthony Miley put the Northern Premier League Division One North West side ahead with an early strike.

Harry Pell's second half equaliser for Colchester meant the hosts took the game to extra-time.

With the tie still 1-1 after 120 minutes, Mike Howard scored the penalty to send Marine through.

Victory for Marine means they continue their journey in this season's FA Cup, having played in five qualifying ties to set up Saturday's fixture in Essex.

They have reached second round stage of the competition for the first time since 1992-93, when they were eventually knocked out by Crewe Alexandra in the third round.
