Wrexham 0-1 Altrincham
- Published
Richie Sutton scored the only goal as Altrincham inflicted Wrexham's first defeat in six National League games.
Theo Vassell hit the crossbar within the opening three minutes with Wrexham on the front foot.
But Altrincham went ahead against the run of play two minutes before the break through Sutton's towering header from Matty Kosylo's corner.
Elliott Durrell and Jordan Davies both went close to levelling for Wrexham but Altrincham held on for the win.
Wrexham manager Dean Keates said:
"We had opportunities and we didn't take our chances and we got sucker punched.
"That's not taking anything away from Altrincham, they came here with a game plan.
"We got caught out and that's our mistake - we have to do better."
