St Mirren: Sam Foley departs to join Motherwell
- Published
Midfielder Sam Foley has left St Mirren to join Scottish Premiership rivals Motherwell until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old, who joined from Northampton Town in 2019 and was due to be out of contract in summer, made the last of his 15 appearances this season in November.
"It's great to finally get Sam over the line," said Motherwell manager Graham Alexander.
"Sam has the ability, experience and motivation to help us."
St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin said Foley was "outstanding" last season but was not going to be offered fresh terms in Paisley.
Goodwin is hoping to bolster his squad before Monday's transfer deadline with a striker and left-sided defender.
