Hibernian midfielder Stevie Mallan has joined Turkish Super Lig club Yeni Malatyaspor on loan until the summer.

There is an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

But striker Kevin Nisbet will not be making the move to Birmingham City in this transfer window.

The Easter Road club has turned down all approaches by the English Championship club for the player they signed last summer from Dunfermline for £300,000.

Mallan, who signed from Barnsley in 2018, has made nine starts and 11 substitute appearances for the Scottish Premiership side this campaign.

But head coach Jack Ross had admitted that the 24-year-old is looking for more regular first-team football.

Malatyaspor renewed their interest after Ross suggested at the weekend that the deal for the midfielder, who arrived at Easter Road on a four-year contract, had fallen through.

The side from the eastern region of Turkey, managed by Hamza Hamzaoglu, currently lie 10th of the 21-team top flight.

Millwall have been linked with defender Ryan Porteous, but Ross says both Porteous and Nisbet trained with Hibs on Monday morning and is confident they will feature in the squad for Tuesday's Scottish Premiership trip to face St Mirren.
