Birmingham City have signed Manchester City striker Keyendrah Simmonds on a two-and-a-half-year deal and Southampton defender Yan Valery on loan until the end of the season.

Blues have not revealed if they have paid a fee for the 19-year-old.

Frenchman Valery, 21, has made 37 Premier League appearances for Saints.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Blues striker Miguel Fernandez has joined Spanish third-tier side CD Guijuelo on loan until the end of the season.

Blues are 20th in the Championship table, four points from safety, as they try to avoid a return to the third tier for the first time since 1995.

Aitor Karanka's side have won just one of their last 10 league games.

Although Karanka missed out on striker Kevin Nisbet from Scottish Premier side Hibernian, he did make four signings in the January window,

As well as Simmonds and the right-sided Valery, Blues also brought in midfielder Rekeem Harper on loan from Albion and striker Sam Cosgrove from Aberdeen.

Simmonds, who will join Blues' Under-23 squad, is not initially expected to figure in first-team selection.
