Bournemouth's Nnamdi Ofoborh will move to Rangers at the end of the season

Rangers have confirmed the pre-contract signing of Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh on a four-year deal.

The 21-year-old will see out the season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers before moving to Ibrox in the summer.

Ofoborh's former team-mate Jack Simpson, and Scott Wright of Aberdeen, both joined Rangers late on deadline day on four-and-a-half-year deals.

Defender Simpson, 24, was Rangers' first signing of the window with forward Wright, 23, soon following.

Both had originally agreed pre-contracts with Steven Gerrard's side.

The Ibrox club will have to pay training compensation for Ofoborh, who rejected a contract extension at Championship side Bournemouth.

"We are extremely impressed by his qualities and he is a player that has real progression in him," said sporting director Ross Wilson.

"He has a positive and determined personality and is very much looking forward to becoming a Rangers player at the end of this season."

The midfielder scored twice in 25 games on loan at Wycombe last season, and has played five times for Bournemouth this term.

Wright, who has scored twice in 19 games this season, moves to Ibrox having played 91 times for Aberdeen since breaking through at the age of 16.

Wright faced anger from Aberdeen fans following news he had signed a pre-contract with Rangers, but says he is leaving Pittodrie to further his career.

"There was always going to be a bit of a backlash, I expected that but it was a decision I had to make," he said.

"Joining such a massive club I think can take me to the next level and I can't wait to get started."

Manager Gerrard added: "Scott is a player that I have admired. I believe we can utilise his skillset within our system."

Simpson has made 12 appearances for Bournemouth this season and played 35 games in total for the Cherries.

"It is going to be a huge challenge to keep up with everything that has happened and to keep pushing myself to stay at the standards that are expected here," Simpson said, external.

"That is very important to me and I am excited to try and do that."

Fringe players Brandon Barker and George Edmundson have departed on loan to Oxford United and Derby County, respectively.
