Roma 1-1 Ajax (agg 3-2): Edin Dzeko sets up Man Utd semi-final
- Published
Edin Dzeko scored a crucial equaliser to help Roma edge past Ajax and set up a Europa League semi-final against Manchester United.
Trailing 2-1 on aggregate, Ajax pulled level through striker Brian Brobbey.
They thought they had taken the lead on aggregate but Dusan Tadic's goal was ruled out by the English officiating team of Anthony Taylor and Stuart Attwell for a foul in the build-up.
Dzeko then reacted quickest to poke home at the back post after 72 minutes.
Bosnian Dzeko has now scored 30 European goals for Roma since joining from Manchester City in 2015.
The first leg of the semi-final takes places at Old Trafford on Thursday 29 April, before the return leg the following week.
