Lewis Wing gave Rotherham United's hopes of avoiding relegation from the Championship a huge lift with a precious equaliser against Blackburn.
Wing thumped in a free-kick with just over five minutes to go to level the game, and put their survival bid in their own hands before next weekend's season finale at Cardiff.
Fellow strugglers Derby's 2-1 defeat at Swansea was another huge bonus for the Millers who had gone behind to Adam Armstrong's first-half goal.
Armstrong pinched the ball from Angus MacDonald and swooped in to beat Jamal Blackman for his 26th of the season just after a quarter-of-an-hour.
Rotherham stayed 22nd, three points behind Derby, but have a game in hand on the Rams - against Luton in midweek.
For long periods it looked like it might be enough, as Rovers kept their defence tight, until Wing's crucial intervention late on.
Paul Warne will have breathed a huge sigh of relief as his side pulled a point out of the bag late on, when for an hour or so they looked fatigued and pressured.
This was the Millers' 10th game in just 29 days following their Covid-19-induced backlog of fixtures, and they needed every ounce of energy to muster a fightback.
Substitute George Hirst almost gave them a remarkable win when he lashed a shot from an acute angle which was saved by Rovers goalkeeper Daniel Kaminski.
They still needed Blackman to keep them afloat, as he backed up earlier saves from Armstrong and Bradley Johnson with a one-on-one stop from the former in the final minutes.
Rotherham boss Paul Warne:
"I am proud of them as a group. The season is still alive and we go in with a bit of hope. I thought we started the game really well but we gifted them a goal and it's not League One or League Two. Those players don't really miss those chances.
"I felt the players lacked a little bit of belief. They have licked their wounds so many times this season but we fought back. After 90 minutes I was happy with the point because if we had lost it, it would have been a hammer-blow.
"Jamal pulled a lot of saves off. I thought we looked jaded. A lot of the players have played so many minutes. To play 10 games in 30 days is some feat. Blackburn have talent all over the pitch so it's not a level playing field without the fatigue.
"The lads kept going. They are determined to maintain their Championship status and we live to fight another day."
Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray:
"I think we are frustrated we didn't win by a lot of goals. I felt like it should have been four at half-time as a minimum and it could have been any number at the end. Late on we were still creating chances.
"The team played alright but didn't take their chances. You can't have those one-on-ones and free headers at the back stick and not take them.
"The percentage of goals scored from the chances we created hasn't been as high as we would have liked it to be.
"We know when you come to Rotherham what you are facing and what you have to see out. You just have to be more clinical and ultimately we missed too many good chances. Their goal should have been irrelevant."
