Callum Burton and James Bolton have joined on two-year deals

Plymouth Argyle have signed former Cambridge United goalkeeper Callum Burton and Portsmouth defender James Bolton on two-year deals.

Burton, 24, joins following his release by Cambridge while Bolton, 26, has been signed for an undisclosed fee.

Burton played 27 games last season as Cambridge were promoted from League Two but was let go by the U's last month.

Bolton, who can play centre-back or right-back, made 53 appearances in his two seasons with Pompey.

Meanwhile, veteran stopper Luke McCormick, 37, has signed a new deal as a training keeper with Argyle.

McCormick, who will also retain his playing registration for the 2021-22 season, has made more than 350 appearances for Plymouth over three spells at Home Park.
