Troy Parrott: Tottenham loan man becomes MK Dons' ninth summer signing

Milton Keynes Dons have made their ninth summer signing by bringing in teenage Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott on a season's loan.

The 19-year-old six-times capped Republic of Ireland international will be on his third loan, having spent last season first with Championship side Millwall then in League One at Ipswich.

"Troy is somebody we've had our eyes on for a while," said boss Russell Martin.

Dons have also signed up midfielder Josh McEachran on a new deal.

The 28-year-old, who came through Chelsea's academy, joined the club in March.

He played 14 times before his previous contract expired last month.

McEachran made the majority of his 196 career league appearances at Brentford between 2015-2019.

"We all know how good he is from what he did last year," said Martin. "He is a fantastic footballer who was getting better every week."

McEachran is likely to miss the start of the season as he has had coronavirus this summer and has only just started pre-season training.

Parrott's arrival follows the summer arrival of Scott Twine, goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli, midfielders Josh Martin and Ethan Robson, defenders Aden Baldwin and Tennai Watson strikers Max Watters and Mo Eisa.

"There was a lot of interest in him," added Martin, "so we are thankful to Spurs for trusting us with his development.

"But we are also thankful to Troy for his commitment and desire to be here. We are excited to see what he can do for us this season."

MK Dons, who were 13th in League One last season, start the new season on Saturday with an EFL Cup first-round tie at Bournemouth, followed by another away game when their league campaign begins at Bolton on 7 August.
