Tom Ince and Sam Surridge fired Stoke City into the Carabao Cup third round at the expense of Doncaster Rovers.
Ince gave Stoke the lead six minutes before half-time, being the quickest to react after a Louis Jones save.
Just three minutes into the second half, Surridge doubled the lead, finishing off an Alfie Doughty cross into the bottom right corner.
Stoke wasted several chances to extend their lead as they dominated their League One visitors.
After Morgan Fox shot from 25 yards in the 38th minute, Ince reacted first to Jones' failure to handle the strike.
Striker Surridge, who also played a part in Stoke's 2-1 win over Fleetwood in round one earlier this month, then scored his third goal for the club since joining from Bournemouth.
Stoke boss Michael O'Neill: "Overall, it was a good solid performance. There were things I think we could have done better but I don't think the result was ever in any doubt.
"We struggled in the first half to break them down. At times I thought we were a little slow. We made 11 changes to the team tonight and the players who came in did well.
"Players will be rotated and in and out of the side, but the most important thing is the players are hungry to play."
Doncaster manager Richie Wellens: "It was a pleasing night in the way we played, but a disappointing night because we've gone out.
"We gave a lot of young players the opportunity to play and they didn't freeze.
"Yep (I am looking to bring players in), we're short on three or four bodies because of the injuries we've got."
