Jake Hyde's first-half brace earned big-spending Wrexham their first win of the season at Eastleigh.

Hyde's fine finish, after he had been played in by Paul Mullin, put the visitors ahead.

Joe McDonnell made a brilliant save to deny Hyde but could nothing to stop the striker's header from Jordan Davies' corner doubling Wrexham's lead.

Eastleigh had a good spell early in the second half but it was a comfortable win for Phil Parkinson's side.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

"It was a great day for us and I thought we started with a real intent and there was a real drive about our performance.

"We got the two [goals] and it could have more - their keeper made some terrific saves and we had to work hard to make sure we got the clean sheet.

"Absolutely delighted with the win."
