League Two club Bristol Rovers have signed Junior Brown, Leon Clarke and Antony Evans on one-year deals.

Left-back Brown, 32, spent last season at Scunthorpe, making 15 appearances.

Former Everton midfielder Evans, 22, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Crewe, joins the Pirates from German club Paderborn.

Striker Clarke, 36, who began his career with Wolves, has joined his 19th different league club after being released by Shrewsbury Town in May.

Since making his debut in September 2003, Clarke has had two spells each with Wolves, Coventry City, QPR and Wigan Athletic, and has also played for Kidderminster Harriers, Plymouth Argyle, Oldham Athletic, Southend United, Preston North End, Swindon Town, Chesterfield, Charlton Athletic, Crawley Town, Scunthorpe United, Bury and both Sheffield clubs.

After being signed by Sam Ricketts last September, he scored once in 10 outings for Shrewsbury during the 2020-21 season - and made only two starts following the arrival of Steve Cotterill as manager.

Midfielder Josh Barrett, meanwhile, has had his contract with the club terminated. Barrett joined Rovers in January 2020 and made 11 appearances for the team last season.
