Hamilton Academical 0-2 Ayr United: Bradley & Adeloye extend visitors' winning run to three games

  • Published

Interim manager Jim Duffy extended Ayr United's winning streak to three games against ninth-placed Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Championship.

After a goalless first half, Andy Murdoch set up Steven Bradley to open the scoring with a brilliant strike.

And 15 minutes later, Bradley slotted the ball past the Hamilton defence leaving Tomi Adeloye open to finish past Ryan Fulton.

The win moves Ayr up a place to sixth.

Despite a weak second-half performance, it was Hamilton with the majority of the chances in the first half as Mihai Popescu headed over and Andy Ryan forced two good saves from Charlie Albinson.

The start of the second half started out much the same with few chances from either side until Bradley made the breakthrough. From then on, Duffy's side dominated possession and took hold of the game in Lanarkshire.

Hamilton head coach Stuart Taylor: "I thought we did enough in aspects of today's game to get goals, but goals change games and we didn't score the goals today. It's as simple as that. We'll keep working at it and we'll get there."

Ayr United interim manager Jim Duffy: "They were the team that looked more likely in the first half, but I thought in the second half we came out more relaxed. Hamilton had to push on and we exploited the spaces they left."
