Greenock Morton needed penalties to see off Montrose while fellow Championship sides Raith Rovers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle also reached the Scottish Challenge Cup last eight.

The Cappielow men progressed 4-2 after a goalless draw with the third-tier hosts and are away to Queen of the South in the quarter-finals.

Billy Mckay hit a hat-trick and Lewis Jamieson completed the comeback as Championship leaders Inverness CT rallied from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at Elgin City.

That set up a tie at home to Raith, who defeated East Fife 3-1 with goals from Dylan Tait, Aidan Connolly and Matej Poplatnik.

Rory McAllister's double in a late goal burst helped League One Cove Rangers thrash Albion Rovers 4-1.

Cove - the only non-Championship side through - await the winners of Wednesday's final third-round tie between Alloa Athletic and Rangers B.

On Friday, Kilmarnock defeated League 1 leaders Queen's Park 3-1 as Queen of the South overcame Partick Thistle 2-0.

Goals from Oli Shaw, Euan Murray and Callum Hendry gave Killie the victory after Grant Gillespie's penalty had briefly drawn the visitors level.

Second-half goals from Lee Connelly and Ally Roy secured Queens' win.

Kilmarnock visit Hamilton Academical in the last eight. The two sides relegated from the Premiership last season meet after Accies' 2-0 win over visitors Aberdeen Colts on Wednesday.
