Adam Rooney was on the scoresheet as Solihull Moors returned to winning ways with a home victory against Grimsby.

Rooney opened the scoring early on after converting James Clarke's cross, but the Mariners came close to an equaliser when Luke Waterfall's header cleared the bar.

Grimsby had another chance in the 63rd minute after Ben Fox's cross found John McAtee, but his shot was cleared.

Ryan Boot was called into action for Solihull moments later and made a big save from Michee Efete.

And the Moors doubled their lead in the 68th minute when Joe Sbarra hit the ball low past Town goalkeeper James McKeown for his ninth of the season.
