Dom Telford: Newport County striker wins award for second successive month

Newport County striker Dom Telford has been named League Two player of the month for November, his second successive award.
Telford, who was October's player of the month, scored four goals during November.
The 25-year-old missed Newport's midweek victory over Sutton United after testing positive for Covid-19.
However, manager James Rowberry has confirmed he will be available for Saturday's home game with Port Vale.
Rowberry praised his award-winning striker who is the leading goalscorer in League Two this season.
"I am pleased for him. He deserves it and long may that continue for him and the team," said Rowberry.
But the recently appointed manager said the energetic, goalscoring performance of Lewis Collins, who replaced Telford and netted Newport's opener in Tuesday's 3-2 win, had given him food for thought on whether his top scorer makes an immediate return to the starting line-up.
"I want that and I want to be able to think about that. I need that because I think that challenges and stretches us and can help move us forward. We need that challenge in the group to give us our extra drive, our extra edge."
He added: " I don't think anybody is guaranteed a starting place it is always on performance and the lads know that, so I am just keen to keep emphasising its about the squad a collective effort, whether 1-18 or 18-24, everybody is very much a part of it."
