Ollie Palmer has now scored 11 league goals since arriving from AFC Wimbledon ion January

Wrexham and Solihull shared the points in a tight contest to extend their respective unbeaten runs and maintain National League promotion hopes.

Joe Sbarra gave Solihull the lead early in the second half but Wrexham responded immediately through Ollie Palmer's header.

Wrexham are now unbeaten in 14 games and remain second, seven points behind leaders Stockport who lost at Grimsby.

Solihull remain fourth, three points behind the Dragons.

Neal Ardley's men, unbeaten in the league since January, started on the front foot and Sbarra drew an early save from Wrexham keeper Christian Dibble.

Wrexham settled although two Aaron Hayden headers did not threaten Ryan Boot while the keeper also saved a deflected Palmer effort.

Moors continued to look threatening on the counter attack and Dibble palmed Andrew Dallas' shot after the pull-back from Callum Maycock.

Boot made two crucial saves within a minute, denying Palmer and then Callum McFadzean, with the game played at a frantic pace.

Solihull broke the deadlock early in the second half with Wrexham falling to clear and Sbarra scoring past Dibble for his 15th goal of the season.

But within two minutes Wrexham were level as a trademark Ben Tozer long throw was headed home by Palmer.

Mullin fired over the bar on the turn from a tight angle after Max Cleworth and McFadzean linked up well before Boot made an excellent to deny Wrexham's top scorer.

Wrexham pressed for a second and Tozer's goalbound shot was deflected over the crossbar while Hayden headed over from Luke Young's corner and they had to settle for a point.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

"I thought after the first 10-15 minutes we controlled the game, played some great stuff - we had enough chance to have won the game. We weren't able to take them.

"But in terms of performance, the way we passed the ball and controlled the game, particularly in the second half, I don't think we could have asked much more from the lads.

"We've got to say that we've had last-minute winners in games that have gone right to the wire, but today we've got a point where we maybe should have got three."
