Zach Hemming saved two penalties before being sent off as managerless Kilmarnock clung on for a brilliantly-chaotic Scottish Championship win at Hamilton Academical.

The visitors, in their first game since Tommy Wright's sacking, rallied with a Callum Hendry spot-kick and Chris Stokes goal after Ronan Hughes' opener.

Fraser Murray extended the lead and goalkeeper Hemming foiled Andy Ryan and David Moyo's penalties before fouling Ryan outside the box to see red. Josh Mullin cut the deficit to one late on.

Substitute keeper Sam Walker Ryan then made a superb save to deny Ryan in injury time as Kilmarnock - led by director of football James Fowler - ended a run of three straight league defeats to climb back into the top four.

Hamilton's first defeat in four leaves them sixth, 12 points off the play-off spots and seven clear of the bottom.
