Newport County moved up to third in League Two thanks to a late Cameron Norman winner at Leyton Orient.

Norman broke the deadlock with five minutes remaining of what had been a poor game.

The defender was left unmarked on the far post to score following Josh Pask's flick on from a corner.

County are in the automatic promotion spots for the first time this season while Orient, without a win in four games, are 14th.

Newport manager James Rowberry said:

"I'm very pleased. You come to Leyton Orient and the way they try and play the game it kind of tries to stagnate what we do, so we probably didn't play the way we usually play.

"But we showed great resilience in what we did tonight and it's another clean sheet.

"I'm delighted tonight. We've got 44 points for the season now and what we've got to do is continue what we're doing and keep moving forward."
