Kilmarnock slipped five points behind Scottish Championship leaders Arbroath after losing from a winning position against local rivals Ayr United.
Fraser Murray struck from Chris Burke's pass to put Kilmarnock in front within seven minutes.
James Maxwell quickly got Ayr level from close range and it stayed at 1-1 until the 80th minute.
Sean McGinty got his second assist as Patrick Reading's shot from the left of the box beat Zach Hemming.
With Arbroath netting late to draw with Hamilton Academical, the league leaders stretch their advantage over Derek McInnes' side, while Ayr move above Greenock Morton into seventh.
