Newport County moved up to third in League Two after an impressive second half performance saw them secure a deserved win at Stevenage.

The wind caused problems for both sides in an uninspiring first half but County took the lead soon after the break.

Rob Street turned in Dom Telford's low cross from close range.

Ryan Haynes' curling shot from distance with 20 minutes remaining sealed the win to extend County's unbeaten run to six games.

Newport County manager James Rowberry said:

"I think we underestimated the conditions in the first half. We couldn't get our game going and felt as though the game was stagnating.

"We came out of the traps second half and got the goals and it's a thoroughly deserved win from all aspects for me.

"All I ask for is full maximum effort and attitude and desire and they've shown that, especially in the second half."
