Raith Rovers reignited their play-off bid with a much-needed win

Raith Rovers claimed a first win in 12 Scottish Championship games to deepen Queen of the South's relegation fears.

Matej Poplatnik's first-half strike from close range proved the difference at Palmerston.

Innes Cameron nearly equalised for Queens but shot straight at Jamie MacDonald, who also pushed Willie Gibson's free-kick round the post after the break.

Victory kept play-off chasing Raith within a point of fourth place.

But after successive defeats, second-bottom Queens' lead over Dunfermline is down to a point and they are six adrift of Hamilton in eighth.
