Ash Taylor gave Kilmarnock a first half lead

Oli Shaw's late goal secured Scottish Championship leaders Kilmarnock victory over Queen of the South at Rugby Park.

The home side broke the deadlock shortly before half-time when defender Ash Taylor scored at the back post.

Alistair Roy, who had a first half chance saved, did equalise following a swift counter-attack.

But Shaw claimed all three points when he knocked in a low cross to condemn the ninth-placed Queens to a third straight defeat.

Kilmarnock remain two points clear of closest challengers Arbroath, while Queens are level on points with bottom-club Dunfermline having played a game more.
