Men's World Cup qualifier play-off semi-final: Wales v Austria

Venue: Cardiff City Stadium Date: Thursday, 24 March Kick-off: 19:45 GMT

We asked you if you would start Gareth Bale in Wales' World Cup play-off against Austria, despite playing in only two games since November - and you said yes!

You would partner the Wales skipper up front with Harry Wilson and Daniel James in Thursday night's semi-final.

Most voters favoured a 4-3-3 formation with veterans Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen in midfield.

You would also select Neco Williams to start on the right of a back four.

Joe Rodon was your overwhelming choice as a centre-back despite having played only one Premier League game and in cup competitions for Tottenham this season, with Chris Mepham receiving the next highest number of votes.

Ben Davies was picked in the majority of your selections, with only Bale, James and Ramsey chosen more often.

Almost 90% of you opted for Wayne Hennsessey in goal with injured Danny Ward unavailable for the one-legged tie.

The versatile Ethan Ampadu completes the starting XI as chosen by visitors to the BBC sport website, the Venezia player chosen in a midfield role.

You can still pick your XI but your selections won't be counted towards the result - don't forget to share your picks on social media using #bbcfootball.
