Wrexham 3-2 Eastleigh: Paul Mullin scores another late winner

Paul Mullin's late penalty secured another dramatic win for Wrexham after they twice trailed to Eastleigh.

Danny Whitehall shocked home fans with his opener midway through the first half, with Aaron Hayden equalising for the hosts just a minute later.

Whitehall put the Spitfires back in front, but Mullin levelled with 13 minutes remaining as Wrexham sensed another dramatic late victory.

It duly arrived when Mullin scored a penalty five minutes into injury time.

Wrexham stayed second and five points behind leaders Stockport County while Eastleigh dropped a place to 19th.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson:

"It was a bitty game. After the 6-0 against Barnet, Eastleigh were always going to come here and try to disrupt the game. I didn't think the ref helped.

"Were we at our best in terms of quality? No. But you have got to find way to win and that's what the lads have done in terrific fashion.

"I am so proud of the boys. We stood strong as a group again.

"I didn't even watch [the penalty]. I just looked at the crowd and was waiting for the reaction. When the crowd went up, I was so pleased."
