Watford have signed former Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer, while left-back Adam Masina has moved to Italian club Udinese for an undisclosed fee., external

Hamer, 34, arrives on a two-year deal, external after he was released by Championship rivals Swansea earlier in the summer.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Masina signed a three-year deal with Udinese, who finished 12th in Serie A last term.

He joined the Hornets from Bologna in 2018 and scored three goals in 90 league and cup appearances.

Masina played for Italy at under-21 level before switching to Morocco, the country of his birth, and he has so far won 16 international caps.

He joins a club controlled by Giampaolo Pozzo, father of Watford owner Gino.

For Hamer, Watford are the 12th club to call on the goalkeeper during his 22-year career, which started at Reading.

He has made more than 300 appearances across his career, with permanent stints at Charlton, Huddersfield Town, Swansea and Leicester City, where he featured in the Champions League.
