Birmingham City have signed centre-back Krystian Bielik on a season-long loan from League One side Derby County.

Bielik previously played for Blues on loan from Arsenal under Gianfranco Zola in 2017 when he made 10 appearances.

The 24-year-old Poland international went on to sign for the Rams from Arsenal in 2019, making 49 appearances.

"I am happy to be back. I had a great time here," he said. "I want to play as many games as I can. I hope it's a good season and we achieve something nice."

Bielik turned out 17 times for Derby last season as they were relegated from the Championship, scoring against Blues in their 2-2 draw on 30 January, when he scored on his first appearance after exactly a year out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

He is the fifth summer signing for new Blues boss John Eustace following the return of defender Dion Sanderson on loan from Wolves, Norwich City loan winger Przemyslaw Placheta, ex-Everton, Norwich and Wolves keeper John Ruddy and on-loan Arsenal centre-back Auston Trusty.
